Cleaning rain gutters

So, I need to clean my rain gutters, but my extension ladder isn’t big enough to reach the second story of my house, which is about 30 feet off the ground. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/tools they make I can use to get the job done?

Absolute worst case I can climb the ladder to the first story, bring the ladder with me and climb up to the second story and do from the roof. I’d really rather not go that route though because the pitch is pretty steep and I almost fell off before.

Just get a rifle and shoot a bunch of holes from below

Torche the house, or if that’s too extreme...

This should help with reaching the gutters from the ladder.

I’d pay someone else to do it and then drink beer.

In all seriousness, pay someone to do it or get the proper ladder. This is a really common way to get seriously injured. I have know multiple people who have fallen off ladders at their house with disastrous results.

A leaf blower with gutter cleaning attachment. May need to extend it. I have one that I use on 24 ft tall gutter where my ladder gets me just to where I can touch the top edge with my hands. It works well if the leaves are dry. Big box stores sell them.

Do you have a pressure washer?

And I agree that this is the proper solution. However, my wife does not agree. If I don’t go up on the roof and get it done, she will try to do it herself. Seeing as how I won’t be home this weekend, I need to do it now otherwise she will try it on her own, and I certainly don’t want that.

I kind of figured that would be the solution. I’ll have to climb up most of the way on the ladder and get the leafblower extension. It sure beats falling off the roof.

No, I don’t. Although this is as good a reason as any to buy myself a new toy. I might go this route.

You know, I really don’t like my house anyway...

There are hose attachements that allow you to blast out your gutters. If you get a long enough version you should be able to do it from your ladder. Stay off the roof, man. Bad juju.

Yeah, that’s what I’m aiming for. Although everywhere I’ve seemed to have looked online says they are out of stock in my area. I wonder if I could piece my own together with some pvc pipe, reducers, and 180 deg elbow

I have this attachment for my leaf blower. You will have to go up some of the way up a ladder to get up 30', but it works great.
